Looking for the UGREEN 15974 price in Bangladesh? The UGREEN CM646 is a five-bay USB-C RAID hard drive enclosure designed for users who need high-capacity external storage for business files, media libraries, backups and professional projects.
With support for five 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs, the enclosure offers up to 100TB of raw storage capacity using five compatible 20TB drives. Multiple RAID configurations allow users to organize storage according to their requirements for capacity, performance or drive redundancy.
The enclosure features USB-C connectivity, an aluminum housing and an external power supply. It is suitable for desktop workstations, creative studios, office backup systems and large personal archives. Check the latest UGREEN CM646 (15974) price and availability at IT Source Bangladesh.
The UGREEN CM646 (15974) is designed for customers who need more storage space than a conventional single-drive external hard disk can provide.
Instead of connecting several separate USB hard drives to a computer, the enclosure houses up to five compatible SATA drives in one desktop unit. This helps simplify storage management and reduces the number of individual external drive enclosures required.
Its five drive bays support both 2.5-inch SATA SSDs and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, giving users flexibility when choosing storage media. Hard drives are often selected for large-capacity archives, while SATA SSDs can be useful for workloads that benefit from faster access and silent drive operation.
The enclosure supports a maximum of 20TB per drive, providing up to 100TB of total raw capacity with five supported drives. Actual usable capacity depends on the installed drives, RAID configuration and file system.
RAID functionality allows multiple disks to be combined or managed in different ways. Depending on the selected mode, users can prioritize capacity, improve certain storage performance characteristics or introduce redundancy against some drive failures.
This flexibility makes the UGREEN 15974 suitable for creative professionals, small businesses, IT administrators and home users who maintain large collections of important files.
The enclosure connects to a compatible computer through USB-C and uses a dedicated power adapter to operate multiple drives.
Its aluminum construction and internal cooling design help support everyday desktop storage use. The enclosure is intended for direct-attached storage rather than functioning as a standalone network-attached storage server.
For customers in Bangladesh looking for a multi-bay external storage enclosure, the UGREEN CM646 provides a convenient way to organize several SATA drives in one system.
The UGREEN CM646 features five storage bays for compatible SATA drives.
It accepts 3.5-inch SATA hard drives commonly used for high-capacity desktop storage and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or HDDs used in computers and external storage systems.
Users can select drives based on their capacity, performance requirements and budget.
For example, a video production business may install several large-capacity hard drives to store completed projects, while an office may use the enclosure to maintain an organized local file archive.
For RAID configurations that combine multiple disks, using drives of the same capacity and similar performance characteristics is generally recommended.
The enclosure does not support M.2 NVMe SSDs directly. Its bays are designed for SATA drives.
The UGREEN 15974 supports up to 20TB per compatible drive, allowing a maximum total raw capacity of 100TB when all five bays contain supported 20TB disks.
This provides substantial room for videos, photographs, project files, business documents and large backup archives.
However, the advertised 100TB represents combined raw drive capacity, not guaranteed usable space.
RAID modes that store redundant information reduce usable capacity. For example, RAID 5 reserves capacity equivalent to one drive for parity in a conventional equal-sized array.
Formatting and file-system overhead also affect the amount of storage displayed by an operating system.
Customers should select the appropriate RAID configuration according to their storage requirements rather than assuming every mode provides the full combined capacity.
The UGREEN CM646 supports multiple storage configurations, including PM, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 10 and Large or spanning modes.
PM mode allows supported drives to be managed individually, making it useful when users want separate storage volumes.
RAID 0 combines drives for capacity and striped data access but provides no protection against disk failure.
RAID 1 mirrors data across supported drives to provide redundancy, while RAID 5 uses distributed parity to tolerate a single drive failure in a correctly configured array.
RAID 10 combines mirroring and striping with supported drive configurations. Other modes offer different combinations of storage organization and redundancy.
Not every RAID mode is appropriate for every number of installed drives. Follow the product manual for supported configurations and setup requirements.
RAID is not a replacement for an independent backup. Accidental deletion, malware, controller failure and physical damage can still result in data loss.
The UGREEN 15974 uses a USB-C host connection for transferring data between the enclosure and a compatible computer.
The product manual specifies USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity with a maximum theoretical bandwidth of 5Gbps.
This connection is suitable for large file archives, routine backups, media libraries and general external storage applications.
Actual file transfer speeds depend on the connected computer, installed drives, RAID mode, USB connection and workload.
The USB-C connector does not mean the enclosure supports USB4 or Thunderbolt speeds.
For optimal operation, connect it to a compatible USB 3.x port and use an appropriate data cable.
The UGREEN CM646 features an aluminum enclosure designed to house and protect multiple SATA drives.
Its metal construction helps dissipate heat generated during storage operation.
Because several hard drives can operate simultaneously, maintaining suitable ventilation is important for reliable performance.
Position the enclosure on a stable, well-ventilated surface and avoid blocking its cooling openings.
Operating temperatures depend on the installed drives, ambient conditions and workload.
For long backup sessions or intensive file transfers, ensure the enclosure has sufficient space for airflow.
The UGREEN CM646 uses an external power adapter to supply the electricity needed for its five storage bays.
This is important because multiple 3.5-inch SATA hard drives require more power than a standard USB port can provide.
The enclosure is therefore designed for desktop use with a suitable power connection rather than operation from USB bus power alone.
Use the power adapter specified for the product and follow the manufacturer's recommended startup and shutdown procedures.
When using mechanical hard drives, avoid moving the enclosure while disks are actively reading or writing data.
The UGREEN 15974 is useful for organizing large collections of files in one external storage system.
Small businesses can use it for local document archives, completed projects and scheduled backups.
Photographers can store extensive RAW image collections, while video editors can maintain large libraries of recorded footage and exported projects.
Home users may find it useful for personal media collections and backups from compatible computers.
For important information, maintain an additional backup on another device or in a separate location.
RAID redundancy can improve availability in certain drive-failure situations, but it cannot protect against every cause of data loss.
The UGREEN CM646 is designed for compatible Windows, macOS and Linux computers with suitable USB connectivity.
Once the enclosure and drives are correctly configured, the connected computer can access the storage volumes supported by the selected RAID mode and file system.
Some new drives require initialization and formatting before use.
When changing RAID settings, existing data may be erased. Back up all important files before creating, modifying or rebuilding an array.
The enclosure does not independently provide NAS functions such as network file sharing, remote access or standalone server applications.
To share its storage over a network, additional computer or server configuration would be required.
The UGREEN CM646 (15974) is suitable for small businesses that need high-capacity local storage for documents, projects and backups.
Photographers and video editors can use it to organize large media libraries and archived work.
IT professionals can use its multiple drive bays for compatible direct-attached storage and RAID management tasks.
Home users with extensive media collections can benefit from keeping several SATA drives inside one enclosure.
It is a practical option for customers who need up to five SATA drives in a single USB-C desktop storage unit.
